The Reflex Group Bursary Scheme 2024: Inspiring Stories of Meaningful Change – Part 3

Welcome to the third instalment of our Reflex Bursary Scheme round-up series! Here, we’re delighted to share more incredible stories of positive change from within our chosen causes’ local communities.

1st Cleethorpes Sea Scouts | Donated by Reflex Labels Grimsby

1st Cleethorpes Sea Scouts is a local scout group in Grimsby and Cleethorpes and was nominated by the team at our Grimsby site. The group gives children ages 6-16 the opportunity to gain experience and take part in water sports such as sailing, rowing and paddleboarding.

Funds from the Reflex Bursary will support running costs for the group and to purchase vital equipment such as life jackets and wetsuits, which ensure the safety of the children whilst participating in water activities.

The Lord Whiskey Sanctuary Fund | Donated by Progressive ID Kent

The Lord Whiskey Sanctuary Fund is an organisation that provides shelter and veterinary care throughout Kent for animals of all kinds that are homeless or have been abused. Its operation relies heavily on funding from charitable donations.

The Reflex Bursary will ensure the ongoing shelter of these animals and assist with the costs of medical supplies, veterinary ambulance transport and feed.

Farnley Tyas C of E First School – Book Shelter | Donated by Reflex Labels Ossett

FarnleyTyas First School, located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, is working hard on an initiative to introduce the ‘love of reading’ in the outdoors. The project includes building a book shelter which will house baskets of fiction and non-fiction books and lots of cushions for the children to sit on, to encourage them to sit down with a book during outdoor break times.

Reflex’s Bursary donation to Farnley Tyas has enabled the school to finalise the build and decoration of the book shelter and provided the children with an array of books to read should they wish.

Oakworth Primary School – Weather Station | Donated by Reflex Label Plus Keighley

Oakworth Primary School is located just a couple of minutes away from our Keighley site and was chosen to receive a donation towards a new sensory garden and play area. The Reflex Bursary scheme has funded a weather station within the garden, which was installed in December 2024.
